NHI staff and community volunteers annually visit key high schools throughout the nation to identify students to attend NHI programs. Additional students may be nominated by NHI alumni, high school guidance offices, or seek admission to programs based solely on their own interest. Qualified students are accepted to the programs on a “first come, first serve” basis.

All students who wish to become involved in NHI programs must meet the following admission requirements.

• Must submit the appropriate application with parent and counselor signatures, along with a student photo and list of accomplishments
• Submit most recent copy of transcript (for students applying in the fall semester, your transcript from the previous spring semester is acceptable)
• Possess a 88 GPA on a 100 point scale 
• Be enrolled in a college bound or honors curriculum
