YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE LOCAL PROJECT
In YLC Local Projects, local adult volunteers organize students into community debate teams and coordinate training during the spring semester of the school year. A team competition is held to determine which students shall travel to represent the team at one of the "Great Debate" summer tournament sites. At the “Great Debate” student representatives from various regions compete with their peers for top honors.

YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
In some areas, NHI operates Residential Projects that merge the local training sessions and residential debate tournament into a single student-centered, on-campus experience. NHI staff and volunteers converge to deliver training and curriculum on-site, organizing students into teams and preparing them to compete with fellow participants at the end of the week. This YLC Project is NHI’s newest program offering and is quickly becoming one of its most popular.
