Applicants are required to pay tuition for the training and services they receive. The general costs of the YLC are nearly double the amount charged to students as tuition. NHI works diligently along with partner host colleges and universities to help underwrite these remaining costs and keep program tuitions affordable.
YLC Local Project Tuition: $470
$470 total student tuition includes a $20 non-refundable application fee due with the application, and $450 tuition. Tuition payments confirm a student’s place in the program and are non-refundable and non-transferable once submitted.
Tuition includes most local training supplies, facilities, etc.* For students selected to attend the Great Debate, food and housing, student supplies, and use of recreational facilities during the on-site campus program. Tuition does NOT include transportation to and from the campus program site.
*Students may be asked to raise nominal funds towards local team related student expenses, i.e. team t-shirts, team banquet, travel for team representatives to the Great Debate tournament site.
